Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a part-time Child Development Specialist to provide evaluations and develop treatment plans for behaviorally disordered toddlers, including those with autistic spectrum disorder (ASD). The role emphasizes family education, collaboration, and comprehensive documentation.

The position requires a BA/BS in special education, early childhood, or psychology, with at least two years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of direct care experience with birth to 5 implementing behavioral intervention programs.
• Bachelor of Arts or Sciences in special education, early childhood or psychology.
• Crisis Management Certification preferred; valid driver’s license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates comprehensive evaluation/assessment skills and ongoing modification of the treatment plan as appropriate.
• Effectively communicates with families to provide education and literature aligned with age, development, and cultural needs.
• Develops home and community-based behavior management programs and reinforcement principles.
• Maintains client records, evaluations, and all written documentation in a timely and compliant manner.
• Collaborates with team members and coordinates with program assistants as needed.
