Job description

Position Type: Before & After School

Job Summary: The Child Care Teacher/Director is responsible for planning and implementing daily programs and activities in the designated site area.

M-F, 6:45 AM-9:00 AM, 3:00-6:00 pm, Wednesdays 1:00-6:00 PM, additional hours for lesson planning, staff meetings, and trainings.

Pay: From $17/hour

Duties and Responsibilities

• Accurately promote the club and programs to potential club members and their families.
• Plan activities with direction from the site child care teach and/or director.
• Lead daily activities including program implementation, organization of assigned rooms, ensuring daily plans are followed by club kids and staff.
• Ability to build and maintain positive and professional relations with youth and their parents, when necessary.
• Assist in all areas of club operations as requested by the child care teacher.
• Regularly attend, participate in training and staff meetings.
• Maintain a positive attitude and contribute toward the positive qualities of the work environment.

Job Qualifications & Educational Requirements

To be considered for a Child Care Teacher, the candidate must:

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Hold a High School diploma or its equivalent
• Hold 90 hour School Age Teacher Certification
• Experience working with school-aged children (preferred)
• Meet the guidelines of the Maryland State Department of Education - Office of Child Care.
