Job summary

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Harford & Cecil Counties provides a safe, welcoming environment that enables all young people to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.

Part-time, in-person after-school program hours are 6:45 AM–9:00 AM and 2:45 PM–6:00 PM, with additional time for planning, meetings, early dismissals, and trainings.

Responsibilities

• Uphold all Office of Child Care Regulations including child files, documentation, attendance records and supervision
• Pursues MSDE Child Care Credential
• Submit programming plans to the Director of School-Based Programs two weeks before implementation
• Lead and engage during all programming with youth in care
• Promote the club and programming to meet enrollment goals
• Build positive relationships with youth, families, and school administration
• Attend all staff meetings and required trainings
• Maintain a positive work environment and culture

Job Summary:The Boys and Girls Club provides a safe welcoming environment that enables all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.

M-F, 6:45 AM-9:00 AM and 2:45pm-6:00 PM, additional hours for lesson planning, staff meetings, early dismissals and trainings.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Uphold all Office of Child Care Regulations to include but not limited to child files, documentation, attendance records, continued training, child safety, and supervision
• Pursues MSDE Child Care Credential
• Submit programing plans to the Director of School-Based Programs 2 weeks before implementation
• Leads and engages during all programming with the youth in care
• Promotes the club and programming to meet enrollment goals
• Builds a positive relationship with youth, and families and school administration
• Attends all staff meetings, and required trainings

Job Qualifications & Educational Requirements:

To be considered for a Child Care Teacher, the candidate must:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Hold a High School diploma or its equivalent
• Hold 90-hour School Age Teacher Certification
• 400 Hours working with school-age children
• ADA, CPR, Medication Administration, and Basic Health and Safety Training (preferred)
• Meet the guidelines of the Maryland State Department of Education - Office of Child Care for School-Based Director.
