Blake School in Minnesota is seeking a Child Care Substitute Teacher to provide on-call care and learning services for children aged 3 months to 4 years. Work hours are 7am–5:30pm, Monday through Friday, with potential summer program hours.

The role requires CPR and first aid training, completion of SUIDS and AHT online trainings, and a commitment to an emergent, Reggio-inspired curriculum, safety, and strong communication with families.

• Help maintain an organized, clean and aesthetically pleasing environment
• Maintain vigilant attention to and resolve any safety concerns that arise from the facility or the children

Position Overview

The Child Care Substitute Teacher provides on-call care and learning services to children ages 3 months to 4 years. Work hours are anytime between 7am and 5:30pm, Monday through Friday. Summer program hours may be available. Licensing requires CPR and first aid training and online (one hour each) SUIDS and AHT training prior to working at the child care. Additional educational training is required for a substitute teacher to work more than 500 hours during the year. All required training is paid by the child care.

Physical Requirements

• Position involves lifting, bending, squatting, reaching and pushing
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• Must be able to get up and down to the floor numerous times throughout the day
