Wake County seeks a Child Care Subsidy Eligibility Caseworker to determine initial and ongoing eligibility for childcare subsidies in Raleigh, NC. You will work with families and caregivers, providing information on needs, programs and services and liaising between the program and the community.
Preferred candidates will be familiar with the Child Care Subsidy program, proficient in NCFAST, and bilingual in Spanish/English. Regular hours, serving Wake County residents.
The Wake County Child Care Subsidy Program provides financial assistance to parents for their child care needs. The child care subsidy is based on an assessment of need, income and family size. Each county receives an annual allocation of state and federal funds used for subsidized child care services for its residents. Wake County also receives funding from the Wake County Smart Start Program. We provide information to the community on choosing and using quality child care. As a result of receiving quality child care through the assistance of the Child Care Subsidy Program, children are better prepared for school success. The purpose of the Child Care Subsidy Eligibility Caseworker is to determine initial and ongoing eligibility for childcare subsidy to assist families in paying for childcare expenses. Parents who receive Child Care Subsidy are in need for the protection, care or developmental experiences of their child/children and fall in one of the following need categories: Work First, Employment, Education/Training, Child Protective Services, Foster Care, Developmental Needs, temporary homelessness or Child Welfare Services. The Child Care Subsidy Eligibility Caseworker is responsible for working with families and caregivers and providing information and assistance on needs, programs and services, and serving as a liaison between the program and the community. The strong candidate will be familiar with the Child Care Subsidy program and proficient in NCFast.
NOTE: Wake County Services actively supports and participates in department emergency preparedness and response activities, which may include temporary changes in responsibilities and working hours.
In the event of an emergency, as determined by the County Manager or designee, participation in preparedness and response operations should be expected. Employee may be required to fill a temporary assignment in a role different from standard duties, work hours and/or work location in preparation for, during and after the emergency. Employee may also be required to participate in relevant exercises and regular preparedness training.
