Job summary

The Learning Lamp in Johnstown, PA is hiring full-time and part-time Child Care Staff to support caring for children in a structured center setting. Duties include supervising children, assisting with daily care, promoting development, and maintaining hygiene and safety.

You’ll communicate with families and collaborate with teammates while pursuing training and certifications. Benefits include holidays off, childcare discounts, and a comprehensive benefits package for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Early Childhood Education certification is a plus.
• Previous experience with children and willingness to complete required clearances and training.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds on a regular basis.
• CPR and first aid certification preferred.
• Commitment to safety and positive behavior support.

Responsibilities

• Supervise indoor and outdoor activities to ensure child safety.
• Assist with feeding, diapering, toileting, and basic care routines.
• Foster independence and age-appropriate self-help skills.
• Plan engaging, developmentally appropriate activities and crafts.
• Maintain open communication with parents and document daily progress.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistent care and share insights.
• Follow health, hygiene and safety protocols and maintain records.
• Encourage parental involvement in events and activities.
• Pursue professional development and certifications to improve care quality.
