Job summary

Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking an experienced early childhood or human services professional for the 2026-2027 school year. The role offers a $17.50–$18.50 per hour wage and involves planning curriculum, supervising staff, and engaging children in a diverse, supportive environment.

You will conduct observations, communicate progress with families, and manage attendance and records. This is a community-focused, non-profit position with opportunities to grow within the YMCA network.

Qualifications

• Degree in education or human services from an accredited college or university.
• 2+ years of verified child care experience (2500 hours).
• Passionate about working with children in a fun, diverse environment.
• Ability to pass all relevant clearances and trainings.

Responsibilities

• Find engaging ways to help kids learn and maintain safe, positive environments.
• Plan and implement curriculum that is child-centered and developmentally appropriate.
• Conduct and record weekly child observations and escalate concerns as needed.
• Communicate with parents/guardians about child progress while maintaining confidentiality.
• Maintain attendance, emergency contacts, allergy reports, and related paperwork on time.
• Ensure centers have quality learning materials organized by learning center.
• Attend monthly or more frequent team-planning meetings.
• Campaign for the Annual Campaign and help develop donors and volunteers.
• Supervise all staff on site.
