Job summary

NYC Health Department seeks a Community Coordinator to supervise registration staff and coordinate licensing activities for child care facilities. You will ensure compliance with health and social service regulations and promote high-quality providers to New Yorkers.

The role involves travel to Albany for training and state meetings, and requires strong communication and organizational skills to manage multiple regulatory projects across NYC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in community work or related duties.
• Experience with licensing or regulatory activities is a plus.
• Excellent oral and written communication; ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate community resources and liaise between providers, City/State agencies, groups, and the public regarding licensing rules.
• Supervise Registrars and support staff in registration/licensing duties; ensure timely processing of applications.
• Review applications and provide recommendations for registration or licensure.
• Maintain organized records for all applications and communications.
• Provide ongoing updates to leadership on unit work and regulatory compliance.
