Job summary

Learning Care is hiring a Child Care Cook, Food Specialist to prepare home-style, nutritious meals for enrolled children and staff. You’ll adapt to menu changes, work within budget, and meet state and federal requirements.

You’ll follow the Director-provided menu, maintain inventory, order supplies, and may assist in classrooms as needed. This role emphasizes health, safety, and teamwork in a caring childcare environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in cooking and/or food preparation for multiple individuals in a childcare facility, preferred.
• Willingness to learn and adhere to all current state and local regulations.
• Flexibility as to the hours and schedule of work.

Responsibilities

• Create home-style, nutritious meals for children and staff within budget and menu boundaries.
• Follow daily menu, complying with USDA, licensing and health department regulations.
• Maintain inventory and order supplies as needed.
• Assist in classrooms as needed as an Assistant Teacher/Floater.
