Job summary

KinderCare Learning Companies is hiring a Cook to prepare healthy meals and snacks for children in our centers. You will follow a menu designed by our in-house nutritionist and ensure children have the fuel to learn and grow.

You will maintain safety and hygiene in the kitchen, manage food orders, and support center operations. A love for children and reliable teamwork are essential, with a focus on accurate documentation and adherence to licensing requirements.

Qualifications

• Love for children and desire to make a difference every day.
• Familiarity with proper food storage and allergy needs; avoid cross-contamination.
• Follow nutritious menus and prepare appropriate portions for center population.
• Basic math for measuring and serving portions.
• Food Handler's License or willingness to obtain.
• At least 1 year institutional cooking; food-ordering experience desirable.
• Two+ years working with children desirable.
• Ability to use computer and lift up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and related equipment safely and hygienically.
• Order food and supplies.
• Dispense and store medication, as requested.
• Complete timely documentation per KinderCare and licensing rules.
• Contribute to daily center duties as needed.
• Support center success by collaborating with staff to achieve enrollment and engagement goals.
