Job summary

JWCH Institute, Inc. in Compton, California is seeking a full-time Child Care Worker to provide caring childcare and care coordination for children whose parents participate in the Outpatient Substance Use Program, while ensuring safety, hygiene, and developmentally appropriate activities.

You will collaborate with the Outpatient Program team, plan age-appropriate curriculum, document progress, support families, organize events, and help maintain program compliance with state and federal

Qualifications

• Associates Arts Degree in Child Development is required.
• Registered Substance Use Disorder Counselor per DHCS/NCCA standards.
• CPR and First Aid certification required.
• Minimum two years’ experience working with infants and children.
• Knowledge of addiction, trauma, homelessness, and DCFS.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with Outpatient Program team members.
• Provide childcare to infants, toddlers and school-age children while parents attend therapy/counseling.
• Ensure proper hygiene; change diapers as needed; supervise safety of children.
• Prepare meals, bottles and snacks; organize activities and curriculum for older children.
• Keep records of each child’s progress and communicate with parents.
• Develop family activities and coordinate 2–4 events annually; manage donations.
