Bethany Athletic Club seeks a Child Care Director for its BKids Daycare + Preschool in Portland, OR. The role oversees staffing, licensing compliance, enrollment, and daily operations to provide a safe and enriching environment.

As Director, you will manage budgets, policies, and a diverse team, reporting to the Operations Manager. This onsite, exempt position offers a comprehensive benefits package and a path for growth within Bethany’s Central Bethany community.

Qualifications

• Certified in CPR/First Aid.
• Meets Oregon Department of Early Learning and Care requirements for a Childcare Center Director.
• Step 9 in the Oregon Registry.
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in early learning education or relevant field.
• Minimum 2 years in a certified childcare center.
• Experience managing and leading a team of 8+.

Responsibilities

• Maintains compliance with certified daycare center rules.
• Develops operation and personnel policies.
• Manages a team of Floats, Subs, Assistant Teachers, Lead Teachers, and Assistant Director.
• Trains new employees and provides ongoing training for all staff.
• Coordinates the weekly schedule across shifts.
• Leads customer service contact for members and communicates with parents.
• Develops and manages budgets.
• Orders supplies and handles HR issues with Ops/HR.
• Must be able to work days, evenings and weekends.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Childcare Director will be overseeing the BKids Daycare + Preschool and fostering a safe, supportive, and educational environment for children. They will be responsible for all areas of childcare including staffing, administration, legal + licensing compliance, and enrollment of the center.
