Job summary

Bethany Athletic Club in Portland, OR is seeking a Swim Instructor to join the Aquatics team. The role offers a part-time schedule with weekday afternoons and/or weekends, and pay is commission-based.

In this position you will provide a welcoming, safe pool experience that helps members build confidence in the water. Responsibilities include enforcing pool rules, coordinating group lesson schedules, delivering timely lessons, and meeting each participant’s needs to ensure enjoyable sessions.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of swim experience
• Lifeguarding certification from Red Cross
• WSI Certification Required
• This position requires First Aid and CPR certifications

Responsibilities

• Understand and enforce pool rules set forth by the club
• Help to create and/or distribute working group lesson schedules
• Provide lessons in a timely manner, ensuring classes start and end at correct time
• Ensure each participant’s needs are met throughout swimming sessions
• Help to ensure all lessons are enjoyable and effective

Job Location: Bethany Athletic Club - Portland, OR 97229, Position Type: Part Time, Job Shift: Any, Bethany Athletic Club, a premier athletic club in Portland’s west side seeks a Swim Instructor to join the Aquatics team! The successful candidate will provide an experience for our members that assist them in building confidence and trust within themselves while in the water. Our Swim Instructors provide a fun, relaxing, and welcoming pool experience, while ensuring a safe environment for all.

Schedule: Weekday afternoons and/or weekends

Pay: Commission-based scale

Shift: Part-time

Main Responsibilities:

• Understand and enforce pool rules set forth by the club

Qualifications: Language Requirement All team members must have the basic ability to use computer/smart phone applications for training and company system purposes. Employees must also be able to comprehend written documents such as work orders, safety rules, instructions, policies, and procedures. Also required is the ability of employees to speak and communicate effectively with clients, coworkers and management.
