Job summary

Haslett Public Schools is seeking a Childcare Paraprofessional for the Kids Connection Program. The role supports the head teacher in supervising children and carrying out teacher-directed activities in a school setting.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, a professional demeanor, and the ability to relate to children. Hours are part-time with morning and afternoon shifts during the school year.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to act as a mature, professional role model.
• Ability to relate to children and maintain positive interactions.
• Physical ability for standing, walking, bending, kneeling and lifting.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Possess a high school diploma or GED certificate.
• Act in a mature and professional manner to provide a positive, responsible adult role model for children. Be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to relate to children and be a role model.
• Physical abilities sufficient to frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience working with children of all ages.
• Education in the field of teaching, child development or a related field.
• Experience with special needs children.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist the head teacher with the supervision of children.
• Carry out activities with the children as directed by the Head Teacher or Child Care Director.

HOURS / LENGTH OF CONTRACT:

Monday - Friday 6:45 am - 8:30 am; 2:45 pm - 6:00 pm; According to the school year calendar

SALARY/BENEFITS:

According to the Haslett Paraprofessional Master Agreement
