Job summary

Education and Training Connection seeks a Before and After School Child Care Aide for the Bullock Creek Before and After School Program in Midland County. The role supports the Lead Teacher/Director with K-5 activities before and after school at Bullock Creek Elementary School.

Minimum HS diploma or GED with 1–3 months related experience; CPR/First Aid preferred. Part-time, non-exempt; pay $15.50–$16.00 per hour. Heatlhcare and other benefits may be included per district policy.

Qualifications

• Requires HS diploma or GED; 1–3 months related experience or training.
• Prefer at least 1 year of Child Development classes; must be 18+.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Organizes and participates in games, reads to children, and teaches arts and crafts.
• Follows lesson plans by teacher for reading, writing, arts, games or social skills activities.
• Helps children develop habits of caring for clothing and putting away toys, books & supplies.
• Assists with snack preparation and cleanup.
• Assists with classroom cleanup using the daily checklist (sanitizing toys, tables, etc.).
• Communicates with parents about enrolled children and progress.
• Attends conferences or workshops in child development when appropriate.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Position: Before and After School Child Care Aide

Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly

Schedule: Part-time less than 20-25 hours per week or sub as needed

Education and Training Connection, located in Midland County, is currently in search of a Before and After School Child Care Aide for the Bullock Creek Before and After School Program.

Summary: Before and After School Child Care Aide will assist the Lead Teacher/Director in organizing and leading activities of children grades K-5 in classroom/gymnasium setting and during outside activities before and after school at Bullock Creek Elementary School.

Education: High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prefer at least one year of Child Development classes and must be 18 years of age or older. CPR/First Aid Certified Preferred.

Qualifications, Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following:

• Organizes and participates in games, reads to children, and teaches children creative arts skills such as simple painting, drawing, homework, songs, and similar activities.


• Follows lesson plans by teacher for reading, writing, arts, games or social skills activities.


• Helps children develop habits of caring for own clothing and picking up and putting away toys, books & supplies.


• Helps with preparation and serving of afternoon snack. Includes cleaning up after snack is served.


• Assists with cleanup of classroom by using the daily check list that is in the classroom (including: sanitizing toys, tables, chairs etc.).


• Communicates and provides a level of customer service to parents of enrolled children.


• Attends conferences or workshops in child development field if appropriate.


• Other duties may be assigned.
