University of Colorado’s APP Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry offers a 9‑month, post‑licensure training program for new graduate PMHNPs. The fellowship takes place at PMHI in Aurora, CO, with six department rotations, a month of elective, and weekly didactics.

Fellows will teach and mentor students and complete a capstone project within PMHI. Rotations include IPU, NSC, PHP, ED/CL, EDP, and outpatient psychiatry, with a focus on evidence‑based pharmacotherapy, diagnostic interviews,

Qualifications

• PMHNP program completion with accreditation (CCNE/ACEN/NLN CNEA).
• Colorado RN license required at start date.
• ANCC PMHNP board certification and prescriptive authority required.
• Experience in independent practice and teaching/mentoring is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Apply evidence-based approaches to pediatric psychiatric care, including prescriptions and monitoring.
• Perform initial psychiatric interviews, develop treatment plans, and maintain EMR documentation.
• Maintain a supervised caseload across inpatient and outpatient rotations.
• Provide preceptor experiences for APRN students with appropriate Colorado credentials.
• Work within a multidisciplinary team of physicians, therapists, and trainees.
