Job summary

Rowan-Cabarrus Community College in North Carolina seeks a visionary Vice President of Corporate and Continuing Education to lead workforce development programs, build employer partnerships, and align offerings with regional economic needs.

Reporting to the College President, the VP ensures program innovation, manages budgets, collaborates across departments, and drives enrollment while upholding compliance with state standards.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree with focus on workforce development/adult education.
  • Eight years of progressively responsible experience, including five in senior management.
  • Supervisory experience leading a large division of faculty and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with industry leaders, community stakeholders, and governmental agencies to create, develop, market, and implement sustainable strategies that address community and industry needs. Synthesize input to meet emerging workforce trends.
  • Provide leadership in development, planning, coordination, evaluation of programs, policies, procedures, and services; ensure compliance with laws, codes, and grant regulations.
  • Serve as a cabinet member, developing cross-divisional programs to benefit students and foster collaboration across disciplines.
  • Review and approve complex data and reports; make recommendations and approve external submissions.
  • Manage the division’s annual budget process including planning, development, monitoring, and expenditure oversight.
  • Ensure compliance with North Carolina Community Colleges’ service standards and policies for corporate and continuing education.
  • Drive growth and innovation, implement technologies and economic development initiatives, and identify new programs aligning with the college’s mission.
  • Assist in identifying and pursuing grant activities; engage in strategic planning at all levels.
  • Provide policy recommendations to the President regarding corporate and continuing education.
  • Collaborate with state, educational partners, and industry to strengthen programs and improve services.
  • Review and improve policies, procedures, and workflows to increase efficiency and quality.
