Job summary

Innovetive Petcare seeks a Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to lead medical excellence and clinician engagement across its Austin-area hospitals. You will shape leadership development, embrace new technologies, and strengthen the veterinary community while preserving medical autonomy at each practice.

You’ll build relationships with doctors, Medical Directors, and operations leaders, drive strategic initiatives, and mentor leaders to create a sustainable leadership bench for the enterprise.

Qualifications

• DVM or VMD degree and active veterinary license in good standing.
• 10+ years of veterinary clinical experience.
• Multi-site leadership experience.
• Experience as a Practice Owner, Medical Director, Regional Medical Director, or senior veterinary leader.
• Strong communication, coaching and relationship-building skills.
• Location in/Around Austin, TX or within commuting distance.

Responsibilities

• Advance medical excellence, veterinarian engagement, leadership development, technology adoption, and hospital strength.
• Preserve medical autonomy while building relationships and sharing expertise across hospitals.
• Identify and develop future Medical Directors and veterinary leaders to strengthen leadership depth.
• Translate emerging technologies into practical clinical and operational solutions across practices.
