Job summary

Banner University Medical Center Phoenix seeks a board-certified thoracic surgeon to build and lead a new lung transplant program. The role includes shaping clinical protocols, assembling a multidisciplinary team, and driving UNOS certification with support from Arizona's largest health system.

Academic appointment with the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix is available. Ideal candidates will have fellowship in thoracic surgery, lung transplant experience, and a vision to serve

Qualifications

• ABTS or eligible for board certification in thoracic surgery.
• Minimum 5 years of experience or more in thoracic surgery.
• Experience in academic and research settings preferred.
• Experience in minimally invasive and robotic techniques.
• Focus on chest wall, esophageal and lung transplantation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and build a new lung transplant program.
• Develop clinical protocols and multidisciplinary teams.
• Oversee referral networks and UNOS certification.
• Teaching residents, fellows and medical students.
