Job summary

E-Space, based in Saratoga, CA, seeks a Chief Systems Engineer (CSE) to own spacecraft system architecture, ICDs, and the program's digital thread. You will be the escalation point for inter-division disputes and oversee the system-level AI&T campaign, ensuring 100% requirements closure across gates.

You will lead MBSE across engineering, enforce EMI/EMC and power standards, and drive a 15+ year track of space SE excellence on constellation programs.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive systems engineering in the space industry.
• Constellation program experience focused on spacecraft architecture or verification for multi-satellite fleets.
• Direct responsibility for requirements traceability and verification closure.
• Background in RF link design, phased array systems, or OSI Layer 1–2 protocol architecture.
• Hands-on subsystem leadership before transitioning to systems engineering.
• Built and led multi-disciplinary SE teams and recruited Principal Engineers.
• Experience defending technical baselines before external review boards.
• Degree in Aerospace, Electrical, or Systems Engineering or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the SRD, ICDs and budgets across the full program lifecycle.
• Lead system-level trade studies across spacecraft, ground, and user terminals.
• Decompose requirements to subsystems and manage trade space.
• Baseline ICDs and maintain configuration control through gates.
• Own spacecraft electrical architecture and ICD framework.
• Lead electrical engineers across hardware VP groups.
• Enforce power, grounding, EMI/EMC, signal integrity standards.
• Own the G2 gate, integration, and campaigns (FlatSat, TVAC...).
• Operate the System Integration Lab and HIL facilities.
• Lead anomaly investigation and disposition for tests.
• Baseline V&V Plan and TPMs; ensure traceability via TRB.
• Provide technical concurrence on ECOs as CCB member.
• Drive MBSE with DOORS NG, Cameo and SysML.
