Job summary

Self Enhancement, Inc. is seeking a Chief Program Officer to lead Youth Services, Community & Family Programs, and Resident & Wrap-Around Services in Portland. The role aligns strategic growth with program priorities and funding, ensuring high-quality, culturally specific services for young people and families.

The CPO will build partnerships, supervise department directors, and drive data-driven improvements while upholding SEI's mission and relationship model across all programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
• At least seven (7) years of progressive program leadership experience, including three (3) years at director level or above.
• Experience leading culturally specific programs serving African American communities.
• Ability to lead, develop, and retain staff within culturally specific organizations.
• Experience in youth development, education, family services, or wrap-around services; housing-connected services preferred.
• Experience designing, launching, and scaling new programs or departments.
• Knowledge of nonprofit fiscal operations, funding sources, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Provides executive leadership for SEI's Youth Services, Community & Family Programs, and Resident & Wrap-Around Services departments.
• Supervises directors of the three program departments and supports professional growth.
• Connects services across departments for integrated support across SEI.
• Translates the 10-Year Strategic Growth Plan into program priorities and measures of progress.
• Leads design and launch of Resident & Wrap-Around Services in partnership with staff and community partners.
• Ensures SEI's culturally specific approach is reinforced across programs.
• Represents SEI's programs to school districts, agencies, funders, and the public in collaboration with the Chief Impact Officer.
• Maintains partnerships with Portland Public, Reynolds, Centennial, and Parkrose school districts and others.
• Oversees budgets for the three program departments with the CFO; monitors expenditures.
• Ensures contracts and grants are implemented with timely reporting to funders.
