Job summary

The Meyer Foundation seeks a visionary Vice President, Program and Community to lead all programmatic activities and align them with our racial equity goals in Greater Washington.

Reporting to the President and CEO, the Vice President will shape strategy, manage a high-performing staff, and serve as a key representative to communities, grantees, and national partners in advancing racial justice through housing, education, and asset-building.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and expertise of root causes of economic instability and deep understanding of racial justice work.
• Leadership and team management guiding staff to excellence in a collaborative culture.
• Track record building strategic alliances and partnerships on behalf of an organization.
• Experience developing strategies and action plans that support a bold mission.
• Strong project management skills to drive multiple complex projects to success.
• Comfort navigating organizational change and leading in transition.
• Entrepreneurial approach to impact, partnerships, and coalitions.
• Understanding grassroots and movement-building work.
• Experience using external communications to engage communities and stakeholders.
• Ability to use quantitative and qualitative data to tell stories and evaluate success.
• At least seven years of senior management experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Foundation goals are met through programmatic efforts including grants, convening, capacity building, research, and evaluation.
• Envision and implement a full array of program activities reflecting community engagement and racial justice.
• Partner with executive leaders to determine and implement program strategy and build capacity as a thought partner and convener.
• Serve as a representative of the Foundation in the community and nationally to maintain relationships.
• Lead, motivate, and manage the Program Team (Senior Director, Program Directors, and Assistants).
• Contribute to the Senior Leadership Team to develop the Foundation’s staff and strategy.
