Job summary

The Meyer Foundation seeks a Program Director to oversee engagement in Northern Virginia, with focus on Arlington, Fairfax, and Prince William Counties; the role will join a peer Program Director for Washington DC. Program Directors embed themselves in the nonprofit, civic, and business sectors to understand community challenges and develop portfolios applying racial equity and systems-change lens.

Qualifications

• Leaders with firsthand experience in communities affected by the Foundation.
• Experience launching or guiding grantmaking programs with a racial equity lens.
• Strong network in the Greater Washington region, especially Northern Virginia.
• Track record as a movement-builder using diverse strategies and partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage a portfolio deploying Meyer’s strategies to address housing, employment, education, and asset-building in the target geography.
• Develop and manage a community-specific grant portfolio based on data, community input, and research.
• Represent the Foundation at community events, meetings, and other functions.
• Identify opportunities to expand work in advocacy, capacity-building, convening, and collective action in the target areas.
• Collaborate with Program colleagues to apply cross-issue expertise and co-manage a Program Assistant.
