Job summary

Associated Electric Cooperative, Inc. is seeking a Managing Director of Technology Enablement to lead a unified approach across data, apps, and integrations. This executive will drive enterprise architecture and accelerate AI‑enabled transformation for the grid and related systems.

The role emphasizes cross‑functional leadership, cybersecurity, and scalable data platforms, with a strong focus on collaboration and sustainable technology practices across MO/AR/OK territory.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in technology, business, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressively responsible leadership experience in technology operations, security, infrastructure, or enterprise‑scale technology environments.
• 7+ years of people leadership experience with full responsibility for direct reports.
• Experience leading high‑stakes incident and crisis response, coordinating cross‑functional teams, and restoring operations under pressure.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity, infrastructure, and enterprise systems, including networks, identity, hosting environments, and endpoint technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead the creation of a unified technology foundation, scaling data products, enterprise apps, and integrations across regions.
• Stand up enterprise architecture as a working function with architects who maintain the authoritative view and reference patterns.
• Turn data into fuel by building trustworthy data products, analytics capabilities, and an AI-ready platform.
• Modernize product development by advancing AI‑integrated development, tooling, and a shared UI framework.
• Design cloud‑power strategies for grid systems including on‑prem datacenter services and containerization.
• Guide the organization through AI and technology waves, ensuring collaboration rather than siloed efforts.
