Job summary

Associated Electric Cooperative, Inc. seeks a senior technology operations leader to form and run TechOps, unifying cyber and physical security with platform and workforce technology support.

You will build a central control system, define the operating model, and guide 24/7 monitoring and automation to sustain reliability across grid-critical systems. This role requires a proven track record leading large-scale tech operations, cybersecurity, and cross-functional teams, with a strategic mindset

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in technology, business, or a related field or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of progressively responsible leadership in technology operations, security, infrastructure, or enterprise-scale environments.
• 7+ years of people leadership with direct reports.
• Proven success leading 24/7 monitoring, incident response, and crisis management across complex systems.
• Strong cybersecurity, infrastructure, and enterprise systems understanding; capable of building operational platforms.

Responsibilities

• Form Technology Operations by unifying cyber, physical security, and platform teams into one organization.
• Lead day-one operations and scale the environment while onboarding systems.
• Define the operating model with clear tiers, handoffs, and service definitions.
• Own the platform’s vision, roadmap, funding, and long-term evolution.
• Onboard enterprise systems with proper ownership and runbooks across teams.
• Expand services to include business continuity, disaster recovery, and proactive capacity management.
