Job summary

Freeman Jet Center is seeking a Chief Pilot to lead flight crews and ensure high professional standards in coordination with the Director of Operations. The role includes operating FJC Charter aircraft and related office duties, with an excellent compensation and relocation package for qualified candidates.

The Chief Pilot reports to the Director of Operations and will oversee crew assignments, policy formulation, certificate management, and compliance with FARs.

Qualifications

  • Total Time: 2500 hours total time, 1200 PIC including 500 cross-country, 100 night, 75 instrument time.
  • 3+ years of leadership/management experience.
  • Current and valid Pilot’s Certificate with English proficiency endorsement.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of professional aviation experience.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and manages flight crews in coordination with the Director of Operations.
  • Coordinates in assigning crew to trips.
  • Assists the Director of Operations in formulating and implementing operations policies and procedures.
  • Assists with adding/removing aircraft from FJC Charter certificate and ensuring proper equipment.
  • Ensures proper documentation onboard all aircraft.
  • Maintains aircraft and crew profiles with various entities.
  • Maintains aircraft weight and balance program.
  • Submits requested reports on flight personnel to Director of Operations.
  • Ensures flight crew are qualified and current per CFR Part 119.71.
  • Ensures aerodromes/routes meet standards and requirements.
  • Disseminates information to crewmembers on routes, NOTAMS, NAVAIDS, policies, regs.
  • Has authority to sign FAA correspondence and operation specs.
  • Manages FJC Charter MEL program.
  • Maintains PIC proficiency and compliance with FARs and procedures.
  • Provides exceptional courtesy and customer service to clients/owners.
  • Stays knowledgeable of the GOM.

Job description

The Chief Pilot is responsible for the professional standards of the flight crews and for implementing and maintaining flight operations policies and procedures in coordination with the Director of Operations. This position will include operating FJC Charter aircraft as well as performing associated office duties.

This position has an excellent compensation and relocation package for qualified and experienced individuals.

Reports To

The Chief Pilot reports directly to the Director of Operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supervises and manages flight crews in coordination with the Director of Operations.
  • Coordinates in assigning crew to trips.
  • Assists the Director of Operations in formulating and implementing operations policies and procedures.
  • Assists with adding and removing aircraft from FJC Charter certificate and ensuring that the aircraft are properly equipped for applicable operations.
  • Ensures proper documentation is onboard all aircraft.
  • Maintains aircraft and crew profiles with various entities.
  • Maintains aircraft weight and balance program.
  • Submits all requested reports regarding flight personnel to the Director of Operations.
  • Ensures that all flight crew personnel are qualified and current in accordance with FJC Charter Operations Specifications and the Applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • Ensures that all aerodromes and routes served by FJC Charter are operationally suitable and meet FJC Charter standards and requirements.
  • Disseminates information to all crewmembers pertaining to routes, airports, NOTAMS, NAVAIDS, company policies, and regulations
  • Has authority to act for the Certificate holder, including the signing of FAA correspondence and operations specifications.
  • Manages FJC Charter MEL program.
  • Maintains proficiency as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) – Complies with all FARs, Operations Specifications, Company Policies, and Company Procedures.
  • Must meet all required qualifications stated in CFR Part 119.71.
  • Provides exceptional courtesy, professionalism and customer service to FJC Charter clients and owners.
  • Remains knowledgeable relative to the applicable portions of the FJC Charter General Operations Manual (GOM).
  • Ensures the safety and quality of all assigned duties and responsibilities by actively and positively participating in FJC Charter SMS program.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
  • Total Time: Minimum 2500 hours total time 1200 hours pilot in command that includes 500 hours cross country time. 100 hours of night time and 75 hours of actual or simulated instrument time.
  • 3+ years of leadership / management experience.
  • Meet all required qualifications state in CFR Part 119.71
  • Current and valid Pilot’s Certificate with an English proficient endorsement.
  • Valid Commercial Instrument multi-engine rating.
  • Able to maintain a Second-Class Medical.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or have equivalent years of professional aviation experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work as a part of a team in a high stress, fast paced environment.
  • Highly motivated, organized and attentive to detail.
  • Extremely computer proficient.
  • Knowledgeable of all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds, climb, kneel, squat, sit and stand for extended periods.
  • Able to read, write, and speak English.
  • Provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
  • No violation of FAA regulations within the last five (5) years.
Highly Desirable
  • Chief Pilot Experience
  • Prior FAR Part 135 experience.
  • King Air 90/200 experience preferred

This position is a DOT Safety Sensitive position, which will require placement in a random drug test pool. The Chief Pilot may be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays
