Job summary

Cobb County Government is seeking a Senior Human Resources Director to plan, direct, and oversee countywide HR operations and staff. The role advises county administrators on personnel policies, benefits, and records, and leads budget development for the department.

The position requires a Master's degree in a related field with 15 years of HR leadership experience, plus preferred HR certifications. You will manage diversity of HR programs and serve on county boards as needed.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a related field with senior HR leadership experience.
• Fifteen years managing large-scale HR operations and ten years leading teams.
• PHR/SPHR/SHRM-SCP/SHRM-CP or CCP certification preferred.
• Ability to develop and administer department budgets and policies.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and oversee HR operations and staff across personnel, benefits, classification and compensation, internal communications, and records.
• Develop and enforce personnel policies; review appeals and resolve disputes.
• Manage budget for the department and monitor expenditures; prepare financial reports.
• Advise county leadership on HR issues and strategic initiatives; represent the county on boards.
