Job summary

Shoreline Community College seeks a strategic leader to serve as Vice President for People & Culture. You will provide executive leadership for workforce strategy, talent management, employee engagement, and labor relations while guiding organizational culture and climate across the college.

The role requires deep public sector HR experience, strong negotiation skills, and a track record of driving retention and organizational effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in human resources management, public administration, organizational management, management, or similar degree.
• Five (5) or more years’ experience in human resources management positions with at least two years in the public sector; experience with collective bargaining, contract administration, grievances, disciplinary and evaluation processes, and recruitment and selection.
• Three (2) or more years’ experience as a College negotiator, with knowledge of interest-based bargaining.
• Demonstrated sensitivity to diverse backgrounds and commitment to equity in student and workforce success.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership for workforce strategy, employee retention, organizational effectiveness, and culture development.
• Oversee labor relations and workforce engagement, including collective bargaining and negotiation.
• Advise senior leaders on complex workforce matters, regulatory compliance, and organizational health.
• Champion a people-centered leadership philosophy to improve retention and performance.
• Lead cross-divisional collaboration to align workforce initiatives with institutional priorities.
