Job summary

The Long Center, Austin's home for creativity and community, seeks a Director of People & Culture to lead HR strategy and culture. Reporting to the CEO, you will partner with executives to attract, develop, and retain top talent and to foster an inclusive, high-performing workplace.

You will guide talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations, leadership development, compensation strategy, and culture initiatives, ensuring alignment with the Long Center’s mission and values.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in HR, business, or related field.
• 7–10 years of progressively responsible HR experience.
• Experience as a strategic HR business partner or senior HR leader.

Responsibilities

• Lead people strategy and organizational leadership aligned with mission.
• Partner with CEO and leaders on workforce planning and development.
• Foster collaboration, inclusion, and continuous learning during change.
• Oversee talent acquisition, onboarding, and succession planning.
• Provide guidance on employee relations, performance management, and investigations.
• Develop and communicate HR policies compliant with law.
