The role oversees plant performance, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement while serving as the Chief Operator. The ideal candidate will manage 24/7 operations, lead a team, and drive environmental initiatives, reporting to the site leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental, Chemical, or Civil Engineering, or related fields.
• 5+ years in wastewater treatment or environmental operations.
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of EPA and state environmental regulations.
• Ability to obtain Connecticut Wastewater Operator Level 4 within two years.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Chief Operator and make operational decisions to ensure compliance and performance.
• Ensure 24/7 coverage by managing staffing and support as needed.
• Conduct root cause investigations and resolve environmental and safety concerns.
• Prepare and submit required regulatory reports accurately and on time.
• Coordinate contractors, vendors, permits, and site activities.
• Drive efficiency, sustainability, and cost-reduction initiatives.
