Job summary

Elizabethtown Community & Technical College is seeking a Chief Operations Officer to manage on-site non-academic administrative units, including facilities, IT, and safety, in alignment with KCTCS policies.

The role reports to the Chancellor's leadership team, builds high-performing teams, and leads strategic planning and community partnerships to advance institutional priorities. Open until filled; review begins August 3, 2026.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree (Master's, PhD, etc.) or highest directly-applicable certification.
• Five years of related supervisory experience and experience leading multiple departments.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership and oversight to staff in the operational unit.
• Leads and develops high-performing teams to foster collaboration and accountability.
• Ensures compliance with college policies, state regulations, and governing policies.
• Oversees campus safety, security, and emergency planning, including crisis management.
• Executes the college's strategic plan and coordinates with the Chancellor on priorities.
