Job summary

XPRIZE Foundation, Inc. is seeking a Chief Operating Officer to lead enterprise operations across Finance, People & Culture, and Legal/Business Affairs. This role partners with the CEO to scale systems, optimize processes, and ensure mission-aligned execution at global scale.

The COO will drive accountability, develop leadership across functions, and balance innovation with disciplined operations in a remote-first, United States–based environment.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive senior leadership experience overseeing enterprise operations, including Finance, HR, and Legal/Business Affairs.
• MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred; CPA or similar credential a plus.
• Experience working with Boards and Board committees and providing strategic oversight.

Responsibilities

• Own the design, integration, and continuous improvement of the operating model across Finance, Legal, and HR.
• Ensure systems and processes scale with growth and global reach; establish clear decision rights and accountability.
• Provide executive oversight of financial strategy, planning, and performance with board-facing reporting.
• Lead People & Culture to attract, develop, and retain world-class talent; align compensation and performance management with strategy.
• Oversee risk, governance, and regulatory compliance; partner with external counsel as needed.
