Job summary

Deseret Mutual Benefit Administrators (DMBA) seeks a dynamic Chief Operating Officer to provide strategic leadership for DMBA’s core operations, technology-enabled services, and risk management. The role ensures alignment of people, processes, products, platforms, data, and resources with DMBA’s mission and long-term objectives.

The COO will oversee enterprise operations, technology strategy, digital transformation, and continuous improvement while driving customer experience and regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, information systems, finance, operations management, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
• 15 years of experience in healthcare/retirement/employee benefits industries; progressive leadership.
• 4–7 years in senior operational executive role with enterprise-wide accountability.
• Experience leading technology strategy and transformation initiatives.
• Experience overseeing AI or advanced automation initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Provide enterprise leadership for major operational divisions ensuring high-quality, efficient and scalable service delivery.
• Lead and integrate multiple complex operational areas including operations and technology-enabled functions.
• Oversee technology strategy alignment with enterprise priorities and long-term goals.
• Develop operational strategies supporting growth, innovation, customer experience, and service excellence.
• Establish and oversee product, process, and platform management disciplines.
• Drive adoption of AI and emerging technologies to transform processes and decision-making.
• Lead continuous improvement to improve quality, efficiency, and service levels.
• Use data to evaluate performance and allocate resources.
• Maintain enterprise risk management, internal controls, and regulatory compliance framework.
• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, privacy, and data-security requirements.
• Collaborate with executive leadership on long-range plans and budgets.
• Own succession planning for critical operational and technology leadership roles.
• Establish governance and reporting across functions.
• Lead and develop senior leaders and foster accountability and collaboration.
