Job summary

EveryMind seeks a Chief Operating Officer to strengthen its infrastructure for smooth, sustainable, scalable operation. The COO translates strategy into execution, leading finance, IT, facilities, and administration with an enterprise-wide perspective.

The role supervises a 12-person team across finance, IT, facilities, risk management, and compliance; reports to the Board committees and partners with leadership to drive performance metrics and staffing plans. Hybrid work from Rockville HQ.

Qualifications

• Experience leading in nonprofit or mission-driven environments is preferred.
• Strong financial management across restricted funding streams.
• Proven ability to build or transform organizational systems and processes.

Responsibilities

• Balance strategic growth with day-to-day financial, technology, and operational oversight.
• Lead performance measurement, dashboards, and reporting systems.
• Develop multi-year staffing plans and consider centralizing, outsourcing, or redesigning capabilities.
• Oversee finance with visibility into position, controls, and reporting.
• Direct annual budgeting and multi-year financial projections for growth.
• Guide IT strategy, supervision of IT staff and outsourced services.
• Oversee enterprise technology including hardware, software, cybersecurity, and data management.
• Ensure cost-efficient, secure, integrated systems supporting productivity and growth.
• Oversee facilities, procurement, and administrative operations; standardize policies.
• Plan capital improvements and manage capital expenses.
