Job summary

The Jen-Hsun Huang and Lori Mills Huang Collaborative Innovation Complex at Oregon State University in Corvallis seeks an Associate Director and Chief Operating Officer. This full-time role leads day-to-day operations, staff, and infrastructure to support the Executive Director’s strategic priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of progressive leadership in operations or related environments.
• 4+ years of leadership with accountability for outcomes, staffing, and resources.
• Experience designing systems and infrastructure for long-term growth.
• Experience in budget preparation, tracking, and financial reporting for large programs.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong judgment, discretion, emotional intelligence, and problem-solving ability.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in leadership practice.

Responsibilities

• Drive day-to-day operational management across all functional areas in support of the Executive Director.
• Develop and implement internal operating procedures, service standards, and infrastructure.
• Design staffing models and organizational structure with the Executive Director for growth.
• Exercise budget management authority over operational expenditures.
• Supervise staff, student employees, graduate assistants, and vendors with ED-backed hiring.
• Represent the Complex with OSU administrative offices and external partners as directed.
• Present issues to the Executive Director with analysis and recommended actions.
