Thompson was founded in 1886 as an orphanage and has grown into an organization operating across the Carolinas, Florida, and Tennessee. Thompson’s continuum of care encompasses prevention, mental health services, and foster care. All programs are trauma-informed and evidence-based/evidence-informed, aiming to build resilience in clients (ages 0-18) and their families, both virtually and in person. What will you do as a Chief Operating Officer?
  • Responsible for the day-to-day operational programs and services at Thompson, including support functions that ensure successful program implementation. Lead, manage, and hold leaders and peers accountable, serving as a steady force that drives clarity and communication throughout the organization.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in human services, social work, business, public administration, or related field
  • 10 years of progressively responsible experience in program management, preferably in nonprofit or human services sector
  • 5 years of leadership experience
  • Thorough knowledge of principles and practices of nonprofit/human service organizations, project management, budgeting, and relevant laws/regulations
  • Valid Driver’s License and credentialing/licensing standards as applicable
  • Pass drug screening and extensive background check
