Job summary

BART is seeking aDirector-level leader to guide Performance Management & Audit, delivering data-driven insights and strategic oversight across governance, risk, and compliance. You will supervise audits, drive accountability, and partner with executives to improve organizational performance.

The role requires senior leadership experience in a public-sector context, with strong analytical and communicative abilities, and a track record of turning data into actionable recommendations for

Qualifications

• Extensive leadership in performance management, internal audit, program evaluation, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of governance, risk management, internal controls, and public-sector accountability practices.
• Proven ability to translate complex data into actionable executive recommendations.
• Experience building performance metrics, dashboards, and reporting frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Assumes full management responsibility for departmental services and activities including coordination of internal and external performance, operational, financial and other assessment and audit activities.
• Plans and coordinates work plans based on risk assessment and stakeholder input; sets goals and priorities for each service area.
• Directs performance management and assessment activities, including audits and benchmarking.
• Directs operational audits covering maintenance, procurement, grants and capital management.
• Oversees compliance audits and external regulatory audits to ensure fiscal integrity of assets and programs.
• Leads staff development, budget oversight, and cross‑department collaboration.
