The City of Rock Island invites applications for a highly responsible professional to oversee the Fire Department's planning, organizing, and directing of all activities. The role involves administration, policy development, and coordination of firefighting, prevention, rescue, and EMS operations.

Responsibilities include supervising personnel, managing budgets, equipment specifications, and program development. Residency in Illinois or Iowa and a valid Class D license are required.

Competenze

• Graduation from a four year college or university with major course work in fire science, public or business administration, or a related field.
• Thorough knowledge of fire department administration, fire science, and organization.
• Ability to plan, implement, and direct programs and personnel management.
• Experience as a firefighter and as a command officer in fire and rescue operations.

• Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate fire suppression, prevention, and EMS services.
• Supervise all department employees and coordinate with City Manager.
