Job summary

Clinical Magnet seeks a Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to provide strategic and operational leadership for all nursing services within an inpatient rehabilitation hospital. You will lead patient-centered care, collaborate with medical, clinical, and therapy teams, and drive quality initiatives while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • RN license required in accordance with state regulations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field required; advanced degree preferred where regulations allow.
  • Advanced degree or equivalent knowledge; CRRN certification encouraged within eligibility period.
  • BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of inpatient hospital experience; 2 years in nursing management within last 5 years.
  • Experience with 24-hour nursing accountability, budgeting, policy/procedure development, and disciplinary processes.

  • Analyze clinical data to identify improvements and wellness programs.

Chief Nursing Officer – Inpatient Rehabilitation

Clinical Magnet is seeking an experienced Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to provide strategic nursing leadership within a leading inpatient rehabilitation hospital. The Opportunity

As Chief Nursing Officer, you will:

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for all nursing services within the hospital.
  • Collaborate with medical, clinical, and therapy teams to create a patient-focused, team-oriented culture.
  • Develop and implement nursing programs, policies, and procedures that ensure patient needs are appropriately assessed, treated, and met.
  • Serve as the nursing representative on key hospital committees, including Governing Body, Quality Council, Medical Executive, Infection Control, Education, and Ethics Committees.
  • Lead initiatives that improve quality, patient safety, clinical outcomes, and overall patient experience.
  • Foster an inclusive and respectful workplace that empowers nurses and clinical staff to perform at their highest level.
  • Establish accountability across the nursing department while motivating, developing, and recognizing team members.
  • Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, state, rehabilitation nursing, and hospital standards.
  • Utilize staffing models that account for patient acuity while maintaining appropriate staffing levels and budgetary goals.
  • Analyze clinical and operational data to identify opportunities for improvement and develop programs that promote wellness and prevent complications.
  • Partner with hospital leadership to achieve organizational goals and advance the hospital's mission.
  • Celebrate the accomplishments of both patients and staff while building a culture of excellence.
Qualifications
  • Current RN license in accordance with applicable state regulations
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field required, unless otherwise specified by state regulation
  • Advanced degree, plans to obtain an advanced degree, or equivalent knowledge and skills as required by applicable regulations
  • BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
  • Commitment to obtaining CRRN certification within one year of meeting eligibility requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an inpatient hospital setting
  • Minimum 2 years of recent nursing management experience within the last 5 years
  • Experience with 24-hour nursing accountability, FTE management, policy and procedure development, budgeting, and employee disciplinary processes
  • Strong leadership, communication, critical-thinking, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across interdisciplinary teams
  • Flexibility to work occasional weekends, evenings, nights, holidays, or other scheduled shifts as needed
