Job summary

Cedarhurst Senior Living in Omaha, NE, seeks a Director of Nursing to provide strategic leadership of clinical operations across the community, ensuring safe, high-quality, person-centered care in line with regulations and Cedarhurst policies.

The role leads nurses, CNAs, and medication staff, drives individualized service plans, ensures regulatory readiness, and champions professional development and occupancy initiatives.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with an active RN or LPN license.
• Minimum of three years nursing experience preferred.
• CPR or BLS certification preferred.
• Experience with person-directed care and dementia preferred.
• Experience in preadmission assessments and staff/family education.

Responsibilities

• Oversee delivery of quality care in compliance with care plans and assessments.
• Develop nursing service objectives and procedures per regulations.
• Maintain a safe working environment and prevent accidents.
• Provide nursing coverage as needed.
• Assess residents for appropriate levels of care with urgency.
• Manage and coordinate nursing staff and communicate health information.
• Oversee medications for residents who self-administer if applicable.
• Engage with surveyors during IDPH surveys and plan corrections.
• Create and manage department scheduling to meet labor budget.
• Interview, hire, train, supervise, and retain staff.
