Job summary

Commonwealth of VA Careers is seeking a Chief Nurse Executive / RN Manager II at Eastern State Hospital in Virginia. This senior role provides leadership to the Nursing Department, reporting to the Hospital Director to ensure safe, competent nursing care and achievement of hospital goals.

The ideal candidate has an accredited nursing degree with RN licensure in Virginia or a compact state, plus extensive nursing administration experience.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program required.
• Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia or in a compact state required.
• Master’s degree and/or doctorate degree in psychiatric mental health nursing, or nursing administration preferred.
• Extensive experience in professional nursing administration with demonstrated executive leadership ability.
• Considerable direct care experience in mental health nursing required.

Responsibilities

• To provide effective leadership and overall supervision to the Nursing Department. This position is directly responsible to the Hospital Director for the provision of safe and competent Nursing Care; for accomplishing the goals and objectives of the Hospital and the Nursing Job Descriptions and classifications. Provides direct supervision to the ACNOs, ICN, Nurse Educator and Administrators on Duty.
