Job summary

Commonwealth of VA Careers is seeking a Registered Nurse I at Eastern State Hospital in Williamsburg, VA. You will provide quality nursing care to adult and geriatric psychiatric patients using the nursing process, while adhering to hospital policy and standards of care.

Must maintain competencies, complete required trainings (BLS, TOVA) and demonstrate strong interpersonal and teamwork skills. This is a full-time, on-site position within the Dept Behavioral Health/Develop.

Qualifications

• Must successfully complete BLS, TOVA and other required training upon employment at Eastern State Hospital
• Must successfully complete and maintain competencies
• Effective interpersonal communication skills, team focused care and a professional appearance/approach
• Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care utilizing knowledge of pharmacology, psychiatric and physical disorders and cultural needs of the psychiatric patient
• Ability to delegate and supervise
• Registered nursing licensure or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality nursing care to adult and geriatric psychiatric patients through the nursing process in accordance with hospital policy and procedure and standards of nursing practice
