Averro is seeking a Chief Nuclear Engineer for a confidential West Coast client. This onsite, direct-hire role oversees the reactor program and leads the Design Authority across disciplines, ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

The leader will guide the engineering direction from design to deployment, mentor engineers, and coordinate with regulators and key suppliers to manage risk, schedule, and cost.

Qualifications

• Advanced Degree in a relevant engineering field.
• 20+ years progressive engineering experience in commercial nuclear.
• 10+ years in senior engineering leadership roles.
• Design Authority expertise.
• Experience with nuclear plant design, construction, commissioning, and operations.
• Familiarity with risk-informed licensing frameworks.
• Experience working with U.S. nuclear regulators.

Responsabilités

• Serve as the top technical authority for the reactor program.
• Establish and formalize the design authority framework across the organization.
• Define and uphold standards for nuclear safety, engineering quality, and configuration management control.
• Ensure technical compliance across all engineered systems, processes, and deliverables.
• Provide oversight across mechanical, electrical, I&C, structural, systems, nuclear, and civil disciplines.
• Lead cross-functional reviews and resolve complex technical conflicts.
