Qualifications

  • USCG license/certificates per STCW requirements (500GT-3000GT, OICNW, RFPNW, PSC, GMDSS, ECDIS).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Active SECRET clearance required.
  • TWIC and CAC must be maintained.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and shipboard monitoring software.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the Deck department under the Master’s direction.
  • Ensure safe planning, loading, stowage, and discharge of cargo and maintenance.
  • Act as emergency response team lead and training officer.
  • Serve as damage control, security, and safety officer for deck operations.
  • Direct crew actions and ensure compliance with standards and schedules.
