American Cruise Lines seeks experienced Mates for our U.S. flag fleet, operating across inland and coastal waterways including the Mississippi and Great Lakes.

Mates are senior officers responsible for safe operations, regulatory compliance, and leading deck teams while developing piloting expertise on coastal and river routes. Formación

• U.S. Coast Guard Mate’s license: minimum 100 GRT with Near Coastal endorsement; 1,600 GRT preferred.
• TWIC card required.
• 2+ years mate experience on coastal and river waterways; 5 years with Z-drive preferred.
• Basic marine engineering knowledge: diesel machinery, hydraulics, liquid load management.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Pre-employment drug test and random testing participation.
• Great Lakes Mate route familiarity and recency across multiple Great Lakes ports.

Responsabilidades

• Ensure safety and security of passengers, crew, and vessel.
• Operate the vessel in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
• Conduct daily inspections of all vessel spaces.
• Supervise, lead, and develop deck officers.
• Execute vessel cleaning, sanitation, maintenance, and logistics.
• Lead crew orientation, training, watch standing, and emergency drills.
• Coordinate with Hotel Officers and Service Crew for five-star guest service.
• Document cleaning, sanitation, maintenance, and logistics activities.
• Maintain an onboard environment that is safe, secure, clean, and comfortable for all.
