Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and working closely with the firm's Management Committee, practice group leaders, and attorneys, the CMBDO will play a critical role in driving the firm's growth and market presence. This leadership position is responsible for developing and executing firmwide marketing and business development strategies; overseeing the firm's pitch, proposal, and pursuit processes; leading key client and cross-selling initiatives; directing brand, communications, and digital marketing efforts; coaching attorneys on business development; managing the marketing and business development team; and overseeing CRM strategy, pipeline management, budgeting, analytics, and performance reporting. The CMBDO will serve as a trusted advisor to firm leadership while ensuring that marketing and business development efforts support the firm's strategic objectives and revenue growth goals.

The successful candidate will possess a bachelor's degree and a minimum of ten years of progressive leadership experience in law firm or professional services, marketing and business development. Candidates should have a demonstrated track record of driving business development initiatives tied to revenue growth, client acquisition, and client retention; significant experience managing competitive pitches, proposals, and RFPs; experience leading and developing professional teams; and a proven ability to coach partners, attorneys, executives, or other senior professionals in business development and client relationship management. Strong experience with CRM systems, opportunity tracking, pipeline management, business development analytics, and budget oversight are essential, as are exceptional communication, leadership, relationship-building, and project management skills.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic and collaborative leader who combines vision with execution. They will possess a strong business development orientation, a proven ability to influence senior stakeholders, and a track record of building systems, processes, and teams that drive measurable results. The ideal candidate is proactive, data-driven, highly organized, and skilled at balancing long‑term strategic initiatives with day‑to‑day operational leadership.
