Job summary

Goodwill of Central & Northern Arizona seeks an experienced Chief Legal Officer to serve as the company’s chief legal advisor and strategic business partner. You will lead enterprise-wide legal, compliance, governance, risk management, and regulatory efforts, guiding growth while protecting assets and safeguarding integrity.

As a key ELT member, you will oversee M&A, corporate development, and complex transactions, manage outside counsel and budgets, and shape the legal function with a focus on

Qualifications

• J.D. degree and active Arizona Bar in good standing.
• 15+ years of legal experience in corporate settings.
• General Counsel/Deputy GC experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with M&A, compliance, governance, and employment law.

Responsibilities

• Provide enterprise-wide leadership for legal, compliance, governance, risk, regulatory, and real estate matters.
• Advise the CEO, ELT, and multiple Boards of Directors on policy, fiduciary responsibilities, and governance.
• Lead strategy for mergers, acquisitions, and strategic transactions while protecting assets.
• Manage outside counsel, legal budget, and reserves; oversee post-merger integration.
• Develop succession plans and build scalable legal/compliance infrastructure.
