PEG Staffing & Recruiting has been engaged to conduct a confidential search for an accomplished General Counsel & Enterprise Compliance Lead on behalf of a Midwest-based organization. This executive role serves as the chief legal officer and trusted strategic adviser to senior leadership.

The successful candidate will provide sophisticated legal counsel while advancing enterprise-wide compliance, corporate governance, and risk management initiatives, reporting directly to the President and COO.

Qualifications

• JD degree with active bar admission.
• 15+ years of progressive legal experience advising senior leadership.
• Expertise in corporate governance, enterprise compliance, regulatory matters, and risk management.
• Experience guiding executive leadership on high-impact business decisions.

Responsibilities

• Serve as principal legal advisor to executive leadership on corporate, regulatory, governance, compliance, and strategic matters.
• Develop and execute an enterprise-wide legal, governance, and compliance strategy aligned with organizational priorities.
• Provide guidance on complex legal matters, regulatory obligations, contracts, and organizational risk.
• Strengthen governance frameworks, internal policies, and enterprise compliance practices.
• Partner with executives on strategic planning and major initiatives.
• Identify emerging risks and recommend practical, commercially sound solutions.
• Promote a culture of accountability and ethical decision-making.
