Job summary

Cain Watters & Associates seeks a Chief Legal Officer to provide strategic legal counsel to the Executive Committee and leadership team. You will oversee enterprise contract management, governance, and compliance, while supporting growth initiatives and operational excellence across the firm.

You will lead the compliance function, collaborate with executive leadership, and manage external counsel and regulatory relations to advance firm objectives and enterprise value.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school is required.
• Minimum 12–15 years of legal experience, with in-house, GC, or senior legal leadership background.
• Proven ability to lead complex contract negotiations and enterprise contract management programs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the firm's legal strategy aligned with business goals.
• Oversee contract management, review, negotiation, and risk assessment.
• Establish policies and controls for governance, operations, and compliance.
• Advise executive leadership on legal obligations, business initiatives, and risk.
• Lead cross-functional strategic initiatives from concept to implementation.
• Monitor regulatory developments and communicate implications to leadership.
