Job summary

M.C. Dean is seeking a Chief Legal Officer to lead the enterprise legal function and advise the CEO on legal strategy affecting the company.

The CLO will supervise attorneys and manage budgets, staffing, and outside counsel, aligning with contracts, ethics, security, risk, and other departments. The role requires JD or LLM, US licensure, and experience with large federal contractors, construction contracts, and technology/IP risk.

Qualifications

• Evidence-based legal advice to CEO and leadership on strategy and matters affecting the Company.
• Experience representing large construction contractors on complex projects.
• Experience with federal contracting and compliance matters.
• Experience advising on technology and intellectual property matters including drafting contracts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead the Company's enterprise legal strategy.
• Advise CEO and leadership on significant legal matters.
• Oversee privilege and professional standards across the Company.
• Direct investigations, disputes, and strategic transactions.
• Select, engage, and manage outside counsel.
• Manage the legal department's budget, staffing, and operating model.
